The Workplace English Campaign aims to heighten public awareness of the importance of workplace English and to raise the standard of English among the Hong Kong workforce.
The Campaign consists of:
- the establishment of Hong Kong Workplace English Benchmarks for the following job types: clerks, executives/ associate professionals, frontline service personnel, low proficiency job types, receptionists/ telephone operators, secretaries.
- the provision of a Funding Scheme for Workplace English Training for employees' English training and for course development.
The below City & Guilds qualifications in English Language are applicable to the Benchmarks and Funding Scheme of the Workplace English Campaign and Continuing Education Fund. The table below shows the specified minimum requirements for the different job types.
